Tired of the endless stream of Robocalls constantly bombarding your phone?
Here are some unconventional methods that DO NOT require you to change your phone number to help put an end to them, and reclaim your sanity.
What are Robocalls?
A Robocall is exactly what you think it is, and it can show up in several ways. Sometimes it’s those annoying phone calls that contain pre-recorded messages suggesting you’ve won some sort of sweepstakes you never took part in, and at other times it’s those calls where you’re left on the line shouting “HELLO” numerous times before the call is finally transferred over to a representative. These calls are not only a tremendous waste of our time but also extremely irritating for all of us. This is especially the case when your phone is ringing off the hook constantly thus disrupting your normal everyday life. It can get even worse when you’re sitting by the phone waiting for a particular phone call, and as you go to answer the call, it turns out to be just another one of those dreadful robo-dialed calls. Fortunately, there is an easy way fix to this situation and it starts with the “DO NOT CALL” list.
Each company calling your phone is obligated to keep their personal “DO NOT CALL” list. In the event that a consumer request not to be contacted again, that company is mandated to add you to their “DO NOT CALL” list. If you’re successfully added to the list, this is supposed to ensure that the consumer never receives another call from that company.
An additional way to put an end to the madness is to make your way onto the National “DO NOT CALL” list. The U.S. government has put together a website that requires nothing more than adding your home and/or cell phone number on https://www.donotcall.gov to ensure that companies stop contacting you. You can also call 1-888-382-1222 to get on it. Companies are required to honor the National “DO NOT CALL” list, and if you’re contacted after 31 days of placement on the list, you may be entitled to a legal action.
Finally, if that wasn’t enough, and you still find yourself getting harassed by Robocalls, you can fight back with the law by SUING THEM. When it comes to Robocalls the federal government is very serious about forcing companies to follow strict rules and regulations to protect the consumer. As a result, you may be entitled to a claim of up to $1,500 per phone call in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Consequently, compensation can reach upwards of $50,000 on a mere 35 calls.
Here at The Tariq Law Firm we specialize in consumer protection claims and are here to help put an end to those aggravating calls, while simultaneously getting you the compensation you rightfully deserve.
